Senior 3D Artist

Beyond is looking for a Senior 3D artists to join our team in Amsterdam. As a Senior 3D artist you will be working mostly on modelling, rigging, animation, painting, and sculpting. You will also support the development team with custom made assets used for Augmented Reality and Virtual World purposes.

Skills & responsibilities

  • Texturing: Applying textures to 3D models to give them a realistic look. This includes understanding materials and how they interact with light, as well as creating and applying UV maps.
  • Rigging and Skinning: Setting up skeletons (rigs) for characters or objects to enable animation. Skinning involves attaching the 3D model to the rig in a way that allows for realistic movement.
  • Animation: Creating animations for characters, objects, or scenes. This requires a strong understanding of motion, timing, and storytelling.
  • Lighting: Setting up lighting in a 3D scene to enhance mood, realism, and visual appeal. This includes understanding different lighting techniques and how light interacts with materials and textures.
  • Rendering: Processing the final image or animation from the 3D scene. This includes understanding rendering techniques and working with rendering software.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with other team members, such as concept artists, animators, and project managers. This involves interpreting artistic vision and technical constraints, as well as providing feedback and suggestions.
  • Problem-Solving: Addressing technical challenges and finding solutions to achieve the desired artistic results within the constraints of time and resources.
  • Continued Learning: Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and tools in 3D graphics and continuously improving skills and knowledge.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring that the 3D elements meet the required standards and are consistent with the overall vision of the project.

Additionally you have

  • A portfolio with both commercial and non commercial work
  • Strong working knowledge of industry-standard software specifically Blender and preferrably Substance Painter, 3ds Max, V-Ray and Maya.
  • Excellent creativity and artistic skills.
  • An eye for composition, realism, texture, color, and lighting.
  • Excellent time management skills.
